DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATIVE DENTISTRY & ENDODONTICS

Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics is one of the paramount clinical departments of Bhojia Dental College and Hospital with an extremely busy OPD headed by experienced and dedicated Prof. Dr. Sameer Makkar, with his enthusiastic team of 1 Professor, 4 Readers, 6 Senior Lecturers and 3 Tutors. The department is of utmost significance as it lays the foundation for many basic procedures which are integral to practicing dentistry. It is well equipped and infrastructure consists of Pre-Clinical Lab, Clinical Area, Seminar Room, Surgery Room, Ceramic Lab, Departmental Library etc. The vision of the department is to train undergraduate and post graduate students in all the basic and advanced procedures related to the department and at the same time give them exposure in all aspects like research, clinical practice and academics so as to produce the leaders in Restorative and Endodontic Education, Research & Patient Care.

The students are taught to focus on correct diagnosis, prevent and treat dental caries, pulp and periapical diseases, esthetics in dentistry, managing tooth fracture and other dental emergencies and related surgical procedures. We try to implement the concept of minimal invasive dentistry and conserve as much tooth structure as possible. Students are encouraged to perform all procedures under magnification i.e., using loupes and microscopes and strict sterilization protocols along with rubber dam application wherever necessary. Regular CDE Programs by Eminent Speakers are organized by the Department to upgrade the curriculum of both the under and post graduate students. A lot of focus on the methods of clinical and basic science research inspires them to take up research as a scholarly activity. The department motivates the students to participate in various national and international conferences and their frequent accomplishments in form or best paper, posters and awards in other activities brings laurels to the department.  The research activities and clinical cases are regularly published in national and international journals and bring recognition to the institution.
